Swamp Sniper is the third audiobook in the Miss Fortune Mysteries series by Jana DeLeon. The narration by Cassandra Campbell is so enticing that you get hooked instantly and keep you up the whole way listening!

Fortune is a CIA agent with a price on her head. The agency has decided that she needs to be somewhere that the people who want her dead will not be able to find her. The place that they have chosen is Sinful, LA. Fortune has made friends with two female Veterans of the Vietnam War, Ida Belle and Gertie. These two women have figured out that Fortune is not Sandra Sue their deceased friend’s niece who is also a librarian.

Plot Summary

In the two weeks CIA assassin Fortune Redding has been hiding in Sinful, Louisiana, she’s been harassed, poisoned, and shot at…and that was the easy part. But now she’s about to face her biggest challenge since setting foot in the tiny bayou town.

When mayoral candidate Ted Williams is murdered, everyone is surprised. Ted was a blowhole and a Yankee, but those usually weren’t good reasons to kill someone. When Sinful Ladies Society leader Ida Belle becomes the lead suspect in the crime, Fortune knows she’s got to solve a murder and save one of the only friends she’s ever had. But as the investigation begins, more and more secrets surface, and Fortune realizes that sometimes nothing is as it seems.

Audiobook Review

Swamp Sniper Audiobook Free Mp3 is not just about the mystery, it’s about the eccentric, odd but totally believable characters, and the wild ride that takes you sliding and squealing to the conclusion.

Fortune Redding is my latest favorite character. I love the playfulness mixed in with believable danger for her and her friends (cohorts). I love how Fortune has made friends with these women who are much older than she is and how Fortune is always amazed at how well the older ladies handle the situations they get into.

DeLeon is a good storyteller and does an excellent job weaving humor around the suspense. I believe the story is more a comedy than a serious action suspense novel. For being a highly trained assassin, Fortune gets into more funny and stupid situations. DeLeon provides some good descriptions of the Bayous. I read that DeLeon grew up in the Bayous in Carlyss, Louisiana. Cassandra Campbell does a good job narrating the story.
