The Halloween Tree Audiobook is a fantasy novel by American author Ray Bradbury, which traces the history of Samhain and Halloween.

I Love Ray Bradbury and love Kirby Heyborne, so this was a no brainer to pick up. I wish would have read this when I was a child, I probably would have appreciated it more, but it was still good nonetheless.

Plot Summary

Halloween Tree Audiobook is the story of eight friends who, on Halloween try to find their missing ring leader, Pipkin. The search leads them to an old, dark, Gothic, haunted house with a tree covered in lit jack-o-lanterns, the Halloween tree.

It is here we meet Moundshroud who offers to help them find Pipkin, but they need to learn the truth about Halloween first. From here, we are given a tour of Halloween and Halloween-like celebrations from around the world, from Ancient Egypt to modern-day Mexico.

Audiobook Reviews

Bradbury is a masterful storyteller. What is amazing here is Bradbury takes the concept of death and the ending of one’s own life from a personal to a worldly discussion. More than that, we learn what it is like to live and grow and even more importantly, about the fluidity of life.

A review of Ray Bradbury’s classic The Halloween Tree Audiobook is probably unnecessary, as everybody already knows how great it is. Five stars! This is the first audiobook I’ve listened to narrated by Kirby Heyborne, though, and it’s definitely worth taking a moment to tell the world about his remarkable talent as a voice actor.
